This week we’ve got brawling brides, deafening performers and a brand new wedding destination. Sundays are all about having things brought to you, so sit back while we give you the wedding highlights of the week. We’d love to start including some of your wedding highlights too, so if you’ve got any snaps from your big day or even if you just want to give some newlyweds a shout out, let us know on our Facebook and Twitter pages!

Brawling Brides

Not many new brides start their big day with the intention of spending their wedding night alone in a prison cell but for one woman in Halifax, that’s exactly what happened! After one too many lagers the bride picked a fight with her neighbour, who she believed has placed a Pagan curse on her, and assaulted the woman until she had to be dragged off my her new hubby. The police were quickly called and the bride was taken down to the station to sober up over night. Start as you mean to go on? :/

Sued opera singers!

At a recent wedding in London the background musical performance took rather more of the limelight than the bride and groom hoped. The opera singers burst into song for over 30 minutes leaving the newlyweds, both in their seventies, rather flustered. Some of the guests fled the room while others reported that they felt physically sick from the noise! The singers have since been required to pay back half of their fees and £285 in costs.

A beach wedding closer to home

For years couples have been asking the council if they can say their I-Dos on Bournemouth beach. Finally a sheltered hut has been built making it legally viable to carry out wedding ceremonies on the sand. The weather might not be guaranteed but with packages starting from £999 it’s a lot cheaper than heading off to the Caribbean!
